I don't like meat that much but I'm not vegetarian either. I eat meat 2-3 times a week, just to make sure I keep my body healthy. Animal flesh is part of human diet ever since our kind was born, I do respect people who decide not to eat meat though. I only hate watching tons of food being wasted, makes it many animals die for nothing. They die so people have something to eat but in the end their meat gets rotten and is thrown away/burned together with other spoiled food. Why do they kill them in such amounts when they can't even sell all of this meat? I think people, especially meat eaters, should learn a bit more respect for animals.

I hope you're not honestly suggesting that this way of thinking and acting is normal in most people.

Meat actually sells pretty well in stores and can be kept for a good amount of time, so that's not really an issue. If it doesn't sell fast enough, they put it on sale and then it will sell. I think meat is one of the least wasted foods in regular people lives.

I been a vegetarian since the day I was born ;3
But I'm not one of those vegetarian who might say that eating meat is unhealthy.
I even at times have fun and joke around about being a vegetarian, I'm happy I'm not a vegan >.< (I couldn't live without cheese and milk, plus I'm allergic to soy and rice milk.)

But I don't really care if someone mocks me for my way of living, I mean. My parents became vegetarians after giving up meat for lent (they just did it for the fun of it.) and when my Dad ate a hamburger he got sick, so from that my parents gave up meat... Plus they are animal lovers and it's better for my mom to be a vegan due to her MS.

I'm also not one of those vegetarian's that hate hunting (Not saying all are like that, just saying that vegetarians are stereo-typed as tree-huggers at times)
I don't like hunting that the animal is killed for the fun of it, but I'm fine with hunters who kill it and then bring it home to eat it. :mccool:

Meh.... First time posting in a discussion forum.. >.>

Not a vegetarian, but I just don't like meat. I go months without it usually, but I'd rather not be called a vegetarian cause I think people should eat meat, it's natural to. I'd eat meat if I liked it without a problem killing the animal for food doesn't bother me because we use every bit of it, even though people don't seem to realize it. Eating meat is natural, nothing wrong with it, and on occasion I enjoy it, and I'm an animal lover. But I have no problem if you wanna just eat veggies or just eat mostly meat.

Nope, I'm not suggesting it's normal for most of people. Pure meat usually sells good, since people buy it on sales for animals etc, meat products like ham are wasted bit more often propably, still I'm sure some vegetables and other products might be wasted in bigger amounts. It's not about how much of it is wasted though. I'm only saying that wasting meat in general is the only problem I have when it comes to killing animals for meat.

I am vegetarian. Lacto-ovo but I do eat some selective fish. I do still consider myself a vegetarian however. The reason I became one was for health reasons and also at the time I became one there was very little stress on humane treatment of animals. I still feel that there is basis in the humane animal treatment but now it's mainly a health choice for me.

I'm not a vegetarian by any means, but I do love vegetables. I've been trying to eat healthily lately, so have been diving into a lot of salads... but I don't plan on stopping with the meat thing. Diet is a matter of choice, and I woul dnever tease someone for being vegetarian - after all, it means more for me to carnivore out on!

I am not.
Because i like meat. Mostly chicken and turkey. But I also feel i would have alot of trouble getting the proper nutrition being a vegetarian. I worry about vegetarians because a lot of them don't get enough protein and iron

:mctongue: I am not but my daughter is. She lives in a house full of meat eaters and has been a vegetarian for about 6 years now. We do have a vegetarian night when we don't eat meat. I don't mind it but I just like meat to much to give up.

I eat far more vegetables than anything else, even though I have much respect for plants, and believe every vegetarian, who doesn't eat meat due to compassion to the animals to be misguided.
The fact that feeding people vegetables is far more efficient than feeding them meat cannot be ignored.
While in my opinion the plant has the same right to live as the animal, plants have to die anyway, either to directly feed the human or to feed the Cattle later consumed by humans.
Directly eating the plant makes more sense since it leaves more space not to be used by men and since less living beings have to be murdered.
But, that doesn't change the fact that I have strong negative feelings towards anyone being concerned of animal "rights" while stepping on these of the plants and mushrooms, treating them like liveless objects.
Even science is far beyond that already.
